1. Internet Outage: This
morning, from approximately 8:50-9:20AM WHTV experienced an Internet
outage. The outage was reported to Northwestel and was resolved when
Northwestel reset equipment that provides Internet access for WHTV.
2. Unplanned Network Outage -
Notice
Northwestel Inc. advises that, from March 21 21:55:00 MST (8:55 PM local time) to March 21 23:00:00 MST (10:00PM local time), an unplanned outage affected all Frame Relay / ATM / Internet traffic with southern destinations in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon and Northern BC.
WHTV also passes on that Northwestel regrets any inconvenience this unplanned outage may have caused its customers.
3. Potential
Service Outage - NOTICE
WHTV received the following information from Northwestel regarding a potential service outage:
Northwestel wishes to advise its customers of a possible service interruption that may affect telecommunications in the North early next Monday.
Maintenance work will be performed in the company’s Whitehorse Central Office during the following local times on Monday, March 25th, 2002:
1:30 – 2:00 a.m. PST (Local Whitehorse Time)/ 2:30 – 3:00 a.m. MST / 3:30 – 4:00 a.m. CST / 4:30 – 5:00 a.m. EST
The following services may be affected:
In Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and northern British Columbia: access to operator services (including 0-plus dialling) and directory assistance.
In Yukon: all long distance services (operator-assisted, 0-plus and direct-dialled calls and the Internet) and directory assistance. In addition, in Whitehorse, local calling and access to 911 service may also be affected.
The work to be performed involves scheduled maintenance on a core power component in the Whitehorse Central Office, which could affect other related systems. The work may not result in any service interruption. However, as a precaution, Northwestel wishes to advise its customers of this possibility, and apologizes in advance of any inconvenience this may cause.
