Same program working in Windows and Unix, but fails in Linux. Wikipedia says the following about the term "Counterexample": <quote> In logic, and especially in its applications to mathematics and philosophy, a counterexample is an exception to a proposed general rule, i.e., a specific instance of the falsity of a universal quantification (a "for all" statement). For example, consider the proposition "all students are lazy". Because this statement makes the claim that a certain property (laziness) holds for all students, even a single example of a diligent student will prove it false. Thus, any hard-working student is a counterexample to "all students are lazy". </quote> Why am I quoting Wikipedia? Well, you claim that your version of PhotoAlbum fails on Linux, but I've just compiled and executed the example on Fedora Linux and the result was a valid PDF file that looked exactly as I expected. In other words, I have 'scientific' proof that your allegation is false. The example works on Windows XP (your test), Window Vista (my test), HP-UX (your test), Fedora Linux (my test), but not on one specific RedHat Linux installation (yours). I think it is safe to assume that the problem is caused by either your Linux distribution, or by a configuration problem on your Linux installation, or maybe it's not even a software problem! but a problem with disk access. You are reading a lot of files, what if the hardware fails and serves only half a TIFF when the hard disk fails. I would strongly suggest that you stop bugging the people on this mailing list and start harassing your Linux administrator. You don't expect US to solve YOUR OS and hardware problems, just because you're running iText on it, don't you? -- This answer is provided by 1T3XT BVBA ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
