Now, please open the choicefields.pdf example from the book, via the link I provided, and see if it exhibits the behavior you don't want. BTW, I wouldn't have suggested a solution that has not worked for me. You might try adding a "" or "None" option at the beginning of your options, and set that as default, to see if that gives you the desired behavior. It should take you les than 5 minutes to modify the ChoiceFields code as I've suggested, recompile and run it, to see if it does what you want, when modified. Good luck with your project.
