>Hey Joe, > >Once upon a time, I found myself headed for Seattle. I posted a question to >RCSE asking - where do I fly? I got scant responses. 'Course, I'm not JW. But >inquiring minds want to know where this field and club is that you mention... > >-- James James, I cheated, and called up Phil direct, as I already knew him from the IHLGF events at Poway. Phil has been the artist/craftsman that has been making the Encores for the past couple of years, so I already had an "in". I'm quite fortunate in that I have met a wide variety of fliers from a large number of places, so I have "connections" all over the place. But, I do remember what I did back in the early days when I moved around a bit for jobs and school. My recommendation when headed somewhere new/different, is to find some way to personalize the contact. Find someone that has flown in the area, do some web surfing, or alternately, swing by a hobby store when you are in the area. They usually can point you to the local club fields, or sometimes even get you connected with a local flier. I've had a lot of great experiences going to different places to meet other fliers, and of course, fly. Joe RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
