Jeff:

        Heya. As annoying as this is...please try running Kaboodle
with WinPcap uninstalled. There's an incompatability between Kaboodle
and WinPcap on some WinXP systems. I've never been able to determine
exactly why, though it appears related to 1394 interfaces.
