Really, it was.
Alex Blume, Doug Sparling, Mike Coleman, Alan Richarson, Nick Evans
and myself turned out to hear Garret Goebel discuss the Design-By-Contract
cpan module, which turns a "contract" block into a working "class" that
does consturction, information hiding, etc.
I am going to use Class::Contract for all perl code which runs the
risk of getting reimplemented in C++, from now on, as it will keep
the interface completely explicit.
Next month's meeting topic remains undecided at this time.
