Impeachment on South Korea-US Cooperation for War

The south Korean people, greeting the New Year, sincerely hope peace and
stability to be secured on the Korean Peninsula and a radical phase of
inter-Korean reconciliation, unity and reunification to be opened this year
through the smooth implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint
Declaration.

Contrary to their great hope and expectation, however, a grave situation has
been created in south Korea.

>From the beginning of the year, warhawks of the Bush administration that has
described this year as a "year of war" fly into south Korea one after
another.

Three Congressmen, who made a visit to Seoul on January 3, are supporters to
the MD project which the United States promotes allegedly to deter "north
Korea's missile threat" and the Republicans including the Speaker of the
House of Representatives who flew to Seoul on January 17 are notorious war
advocates.

In the wake of them, such bosses of the US "war Cabinet" as Defense
Secretary Rumsfeld and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are
scheduled to visit Seoul.

Moreover, US President Bush, the ringleader of aggressive war, is reported
to make a trip to south Korea in February, leading his war servants.

These Americans who swarms to south Korea in this cold season are neither
"envoys of peace" nor leisured "tourists".

Upon arriving south Korea they inspected the US aggressive army bases and
front-line units and what they did there was plotting to strengthen the
south Korea-US military cooperation for war.

South Korea has become a venue of war conspiracy by uninvited warmongers of
Washington.

This is an unbearable challenge to the south Korean people who yearn for
reconciliation and unity, peace and reunification of the nation.

With the advent of the trigger-happy Bush government in the United States,
an ominous shadow has loomed over the implementation of the June 15
inter-Korean Joint Declaration, the inter-Korean relation has been reduced
from reconciliation back to confrontation and the air current of new Cold
War began to expand on the Korean Peninsula.

Look at the trace of crimes!

Soon after he took his seat in the White House, Bush provoked north Korea
even with the alleged "conventional weapon issue", not to speak of the
groundless "nuclear and missile issues", to bring the improved
inter-Korean relations back to confrontation.

After the "September 11 incidents", the United States deployed a mobile task
force in south Korea to strain the situation on the Korean Peninsula. And
now when the Afghan War has come to a close, Washington officials
unhesitatingly make such provocative remarks that the next target of
"anti-terrorism war" is north Korea, while being hell-bent on war
preparation against north Korea.

The US imperialists' arms buildup for a war against north Korea has now
entered a very dangerous stage.

The US war industry has started mass-production of "Deep Digger", which has
been developed as a super-powerful tunnel-piercing weapon for anti-north
aggression, and of the latest lethal weapon "AGM-86D". On the other hand, a
large number of 300km-range missiles has been shipped into south Korea.
Reportedly a huge US armed force including a flotilla of aircraft carrier is
due to be deployed in and around south Korea.

Owing to the belligerent move of the Bush administration, a dark cloud of
war is hovering over the Korean peninsula that had once been advancing
toward reconciliation and cooperation, peace and reunification.

Bush who proclaimed this year as a "year of war" plans to visit south Korea,
leading his merchants of death, in a bid to disturb the bettering relations
between south and north Korea and involve south Korean authorities in their
war strategy.

It is a war travel to put the anti-north Korean war strategy into practice,
which reminds one of the south Korea visit of Dulles made before the
1950-1953 Korean War.

The war of aggression in Afghanistan is going to be transferred to the
Korean Peninsula.

More unpardonable is the fact that the south Korean military authorities,
who issued the emergency alert throughout south Korea to deadlock the
inter-Korean relations soon after the "September 11 incidents", keep their
steps with the United States to ignite a war against north Korea.

Some days ago, Defense Minister Kim Dong-shin, advocate of the theory of
"unchanged arch enemy", babbled that the south Korea-US defense posture
should be further consolidated this year and Foreign Minister Han Sung-su
said that he would keep the strengthening of south Korea-US alliance as a
main axis of this year's diplomacy and intensify the security ties between
south Korea and the United States more than ever.

Necessary for the reunification of the divided country is cooperation with
the same nation in the north but not cooperation with outside forces.
Cooperation with the same nation is patriotism, whereas cooperation with
outsiders is a treachery.

The bellicose group of the south Korean military, however, have designated
the north Korean brethren with whom one should unite to reunify the country
as "arch enemies" and, still worse, are conspiring with the US to harm and
invade the north by actively joining the MD project of the US targeted at
stifling north Korea. They are none other than the arch traitors to the
nation.

Due to the south Korean bellicose group's collusion with the Bush
administration which is scheming to check Korea's reunification and bring
the flames of the war in Central Asia to the Korean Peninsula for its
strategy of global hegemony, the inter-Korean relation is in grave peril of
reducing back to showdown and the June 15 Joint Declaration of turning into
a blank sheet of paper.

Showdown tends to be a war and a war leads to the total ruin of the nation.

We shall never overlook the prevailing situation.

It is an inflexible resolve of our people and nation to maintain and
implement to the letter the Joint Declaration, the program of national
independent reunification, in order to end the tragedy of the country's
division.

With whatever maneuvers the home and foreign bellicose groups can never
break the fervent desire and firm resolve of our nation.

Now the public resentment is high throughout south Korea over the war moves
of the United States and the south Korean warhawks opposing the national
reunification.

Washington should see our people's resolute will for anti-US independence
and reunification and act with discretion. It should give up its
anachronistic war move against north Korea and policy of ruling south Korea
as an everlasting colony and pull its armed forces out of it.

The successive south Korean flunkeyist traitors who had been hell-bent on
confrontation and war against north Korea in conspiracy with outside forces
failed to escape miserable end, sternly judged by the nation.

The Seoul authorities should learn a due lesson from it and discontinue war
collusion with the United States. Meanwhile they should sincerely implement
the June 15 Joint Declaration in cooperation with the north of the same
nation.

All the patriotic south Korean people who have shed blood for independent
reunification of the nation over half a century should not remain
indifferent to the situation in which the reconciliatory inter-Korean
relation is being reversed to confrontation and war.

All the people who yearn for peace, independence and reunification should
turn out in a resolute struggle to frustrate the south Korea-US cooperation
for war.

Let us activate the anti-US, anti-war struggle!

Let us abort the projected travel of Bush and Rumsfeld to Seoul by waging a
nationwide anti-US struggle!

Let us reunify the country independently with the concerted efforts of the
nation!
