Hi there, Unfortunately, the /etc/init.d/kvm and /etc/init.d/qemu-kvm init scripts in previous Ubuntu releases (9.10 and earlier) didn't respect the module blacklists. I have corrected this in Ubuntu 10.04 by using modprobe -b. Thus for Ubuntu 10.04 forward, you should be able to use the blacklist appropriately. For other release, you can disable the init script entirely as the other responder wrote.
