The Jericho Amnesty Movement to free all political prisoners will be holding
its national meeting here in Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday, February 18-19
at the Southern California Library for Social Studies and Research, 6120 S.
Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles (between Slauson and Gage). Three events are open
to the public:
4:00 PM Sat. 2/18, Jericho will be presenting about political prisoners as part
of a Black History Month themed General Assembly of Occupy Los Angeles on the
west steps of City Hall ("Solidarity Park") on Spring St. downtown, between
Temple and First Streets.
7-9:00 PM Sat. 2/18 Cultural/Political event at So. Cal. Library featuring
Danza Cuauhtemoc, theater by Jihad Abdulmumit (ex-political-prisoner and
national co-chair of Jericho), plus music and hip-hop/spoken word. Dinner will
be served for an additional donation.
10 AM-5:00 PM Sun. Feb. 19 Regional meeting - get involved and help shape
struggles to free political prisoners held in California and on the west coast,
such as Dr. Mutulu Shakur, Romaine "Chip" Fitzgerald, Joyanna Zachar, and
members of the Black Riders Liberation Party, a new-generation Black Panther
type formation. Comrade LaaLaa, the chief of staff of the Black Riders here in
L.A. is the national youth coordinator of Jericho Amnesty Movement.
