I am working on a buckspoint piece at the moment that has 15 ground pinholes at the widest point. I usually divide it in half and work along that section and then put the pins in. There is a square talley in the center of the triangular shape so when I reach the talley I finish off all the section to the footside, quite often pinning as I go. When I work the remainder of the triangle, I start working the whole rows again, then placing the pins. Sometimes I work the rows down to the footside or the rows down to the headside. Just depends on my mood at the time and makes it less boring. When working long rows I hate to stop to put the pins in. This is a circular piece from an old Lace magazine and was designed by a Nora Curtis. I had not heard her name before but I love the piece. Does anyone know Nora? I am working it as yardage and am on my third trip around the circle. Janice
<- - how many CTTTs you do in a pass before pinning. I usually do 7 then pin, but with fine silks can easily go to 11. Then after pinning I give the worker a tug and all line up nicely David in Ballarat> Janice Blair Crystal Lake, 50 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois, USA www.jblace.com http://www.lacemakersofillinois.org - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
