Hi Arachnids

In Bucks Point Lace the ground is tensioned by the weight of the bobbins and
the movement of the bobbins from side to side as you work, so keep a wide
space in which to work. I However theclothwork and footside need to be firmed
up, and I think that it was one of these that was causing the problem. If the
ground is tensioned the holes in it become angular rather than smooth ovals
but the clothwork needs to be smooth and will need some firming up. Vi Bullard
told me off when she saw me just stroking my bobbins to tension them, it was a
lesson well learned.

Happy lacemking

Alex.
