I spent an hour on Sunday in the Textile lace room at the V&A studying the
lace.  Got DH to feel useful by carrying the drawers over to the study table so
I could take non-flash photos of some of the pieces.  On Saturday my cash card
was eaten by a bank so I had to find a Lloyds bank to sort out that problem.
Seems my card had expired and I had not received the replacement or noticed the
date.  After that I went back to the V&A for another two hours of looking at
lace and wandering around.  I was surprised that most of the lace was
European.  I had expected the vast majority to be English but I did not find
any Beds to speak of. There seemed to be a number of drawers missing so maybe
they were English laces.

Arrived at mys sisters house yesterday to find 3 lace books I purchased from
Daphne Martin (thanks) last year.  Today in Petersfield, Hants I found 5 lace
books in a second hand book store.  I bought two as the other 3, I already had
or did not want.  On Friday we are going near Canterbury for lunch with my SIL
and BIL and am wondering if I can get DH to detour through the city so we can
visit the Oxfam bookstore.  Bet the good ones have all gone <g>.

I might have a weight problem with the suitcases going back to the US,
especially as DH was presented with a giftbox containing an axe, tree pruning
knife and a reindeer skinning knife after he gave a presentation in Finland!
Anyway, we have more bookstores to visit tomorrow. I may have to pick up an
extra suitcase for the return journey as I only came with a carryon bag.
