Most if not all Glasgow Railway engineering works were in Springburn, to the 
north of the city, The Caledonian works, Cowlairs etc You might try the

There is I believe a museum in Springburn of Glasgow railway works history. 
Also information from The Glasgow Transport museum. latterly there is the 
National museum of Railways in York, England.

I Began my road haulage career in 1968 at Sighthill railway goods yard which 
was next door to the Caledonian railway work or as it was better known THE 
CALLY.
