Most if not all Glasgow Railway engineering works were in Springburn, to the north of the city, The Caledonian works, Cowlairs etc You might try the Glasgow Mitchell Library for information <A HREF="http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/vm/searches/areas.html">Virtual Mitchell< /A> http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/vm/searches/areas.html There is I believe a museum in Springburn of Glasgow railway works history. Also information from The Glasgow Transport museum. latterly there is the National museum of Railways in York, England. I Began my road haulage career in 1968 at Sighthill railway goods yard which was next door to the Caledonian railway work or as it was better known THE CALLY.
