With my C$149.95 IBM Ideascan; I found that a scan of the page in a diary came out far better if the setting was for full colour. i.e. 300 For text as in a newspaper with columns etc. the OCR optical character recognition software provided with the cheapest scanners is something you can edit to perfection in Adobe or any software that imports a pdf file . I haven't saved up enough washers to buy a digital camera. [Come to think of it - you do not need to have a scanner if you have a digital camera.
