Ian, To go back to Legacy v5 after having installed Legacy v6: 1. Uninstall Legacy 6.0. This will not delete any of your family files, pictures or other data. It will only remove Legacy 6.0. 2. With Windows Explorer find and look in the C:\Legacy folder or what ever folder you had Legacy installed in. Within this folder you will find several files remaining that you will need to delete. Carefully delete all of the files in the Legacy folder but DO NOT delete any of the folders like the Data folder, Picture Folder or Web Folder as these folders hold your data and you don't want to accidentally delete your family file or pictures. All the other files should be deleted. 3. Use this link and download and install the final build of Legacy 5.0. http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/helpDownloadVersion5.asp The password required when Installing is: Password: family 4. Start Legacy 5.0 and click on Help, Unlock Deluxe Edition and enter your version 5.0 Deluxe Edition Customer Number. With the latest build of Legacy v5, you'll have no problems opening files that were opened in Legacy v6. Thanks for using Legacy. I have updated to Standard Version 6 (operating on Windows 98) but it seems to be a lot more resource intensive. I am running out of memory (even with other programs closed) and have several times managed to get the message Run-time error '-2147024882 (8007000e)', either when using split window and/or sub-windows e.g. edit [person] - add event - add source - cite source etc [crash!] I never had these problems with Version 5. If I go back, what happens to the family files that have already been converted to the new format? Will I still be able to open/edit them? Or is there something else wrong - perhaps a bug that is about to be corrected??
