If only I did see this behaviour, but I'm afraid I don't.

Legacy's "invention" of double-dating only commencing in 1582 is an
ongoing irritation of mine. 1582 was only the point in time when
European countries diverged in practice over the treatment of leap
years. Long before that (from c. the late 12th century in England),
25th March was considered the first legal day of the year. And that's
the reason genealogists use double-dating - not because of Gregorian
v. Julian and whether it was 12 June 1748 in England v. 23 June in
Europe, but because we want to avoid being ambiguous about what year
it really is when we say 1 March 1506 - is it Old Style or New Style?
This is one "bug" I really wish had crept in...

See http://www.genfair.com/dates.htm for further background.
