If you want to avoid the agreement for the sake of research, there's a sequence 
of exfat commits that go version by version on github.

I went to the Samsung open-source site but, after clicking on one of the ZIP 
file downloads, was unable to download the source without first agreeing to an 
additional Samsung legal agreement. I tried choosing "Disgree" and continuing 
but the site doesn't allow that.

As I understood it the GPL precludes distributors from imposing additional 
terms; surely that includes imposing a legal agreement in order to obtain the 
source?
