Hi, First I want to say that I really appreciate LFTP as a very good open-source product.
Because I has some issues using LFTP in my day-to-day work I have some questions/suggestions. #1 Why not using Google Code for hosting the project? They provide a very good platform that contains a nice bug tracker, source control and wiki. In addition they have a much better uptime than current hosting - I do usually have problems accesing lftp.yar.ru like "The connection was reset". Also, It does provide a very good email address protection and spam protection via "moderate firs post" feature. #2 Why not using Google Groups - it is much better than majordomo and you can subscribe to the threads that you are interested in. Also the web interface is maybe the most powerful. #3 Where is located the source code repository? The download page does not contain it and the one published on https://www.ohloh.net/p/lftp/enlistments is no longer working (I was working 9 month ago). #4. Building latest version (3.7.14 or 3.7.15) on a *clean* CentOS 5 does create an executable that gives a segmentation fault even when you call it with "lftp --help" #5 Getting a portable win32 build is a real pain #6 Why not having a bug tracker? (#1 would solve this) #7 Why not using a wiki for the website, it's easier to update. For example the link to binaries is not working for months - ftp://lftp.yar.ru/lftp/binaries/ Thanks, -- /sorin http://nusunt.eu
