All I was saying is that the chances to get cars in for an insta-party is zero. Not
because of how I see security, but
because that's the way things work in the Technion.

I agree with the naturally thing. But we live in a very unnatural situation.

The other choice is to have a car driving people back and forth with their computers.
This solution is used by some of
the Salsa evenings.

I'm not the security guard here, and the Linux day was as safe or unsafe as almost any
gathering within the Technion. I
happen to be aware of the car issue -- that's all.

BTW, the Linux club has meetings for a few years now, and it has never helped any of
us to get in. Including Guy who
walked his mini-tower all the way from the Parking to Taub for his lecture.

Doing something once in a long while happens to be against you. It's not like if you
want to lend something from
someone, and then doing it once in a while is OK. You have better chances (today it's
zero anyhow) if you do something
regular.

The question that remains here, is if there are people outside the Technion, who would
come to a Linux day, and didn't
because of these obstacles. If there is any idea to make an extra Linux day outside
the Technion (hey, I want to install
a computer!)

Since things became tough with security, many activities in the Technion have
suffered, and some have closed. Regular
dancing *instructors* have been unallowed to enter with their cars, with a delay in
the evening's start as a result. I'm
talking about people who came to the gate with an instructor's T-shirt, and was
clearly recognized as an instructor.

My point is, that if these activities, from which the Aguda makes profits (not just
support) suffer because of the car
issue, it's a waste of time to try getting our people in.
