As for me, I have suggested an alternative design (http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~cs234262/) that is certaily not hard to implement, and said why I think it is a good idea (easy tio maintain, etc.) > > if you don't intend to do anything constructive - don't force others not > to do things either by discouraging them. > > thus, unless someone else does anything - the new site will probably have > frames in it, for the simple reason that no one is suggesting other > alternatives. If you insist, I have started a new version of the site: http://www.technion.ac.il/~tzafrir/Haifux/ It is created using filepp (http://www.cabaret.demon.co.uk/filepp/ . There are many relatively equivalent tools. I happened to use this one before, so I use it now). It is created using a simple makefile (http://www.technion.ac.il/~tzafrir/Haifux/Makefile) from files in http://www.technion.ac.il/~tzafrir/Haifux/templates/ . It is far from complete. I still have to seperate a lot of things to seperate files: * put the navigation bar in a seperate file or macro, so it can be included more than once (e.g: in the bottom) * Add a footer * seperate out some other stuff. Currently only the * hebrew versions of all the pages (I want to make it '*.he.html' and '*.en.html' for pages that have english and hebrew versions, and then MultiViews in apache can be used to automatically select the language). The hebrew content has to be written, of course. * polish it a bit: a better choice of colors than my own's arbitary choice, maybe replace the texts in the navigation bar with icons, etc. Of all of those, the only one which is not trivial to implement (given some time) is the multi-language versions. It requires sometweaking of apache's config. It also require translating some of the texts. (BTW: orr: h3 is really not intended for normal text...) -- Tzafrir Cohen mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.technion.ac.il/~tzafrir -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haifa Linux Club Mailing List (http://linuxclub.il.eu.org) To unsub send an empty message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
