I know it's a bit off-topic (since you already have the equipment for wired network),
but this may be of some interest..

Finally Apple has started selling Airport (their 802-11b Access Point, based on a 486
and a Lucent off-the-shelf PCMCIA card and including  DHCP and NAT) in Israel, for
$350 (US price is similar):

<name of a peer>  is using it at home on non-Apple systems - the internet has lots of
advice on how to use it on Linux and Windows. Apple has a number of very nice PDF
documents describing clearly how to build home networks on
http://www.apple.com/airport/. Have you considered setting a wireless network at your
home?
