About phone cables, I don't know.

Ok, let's say a simple home network. How many computers? Two? Three?

Assuming two: Cable-based network: two 10/100 NICs (100NIS both), two plugs
(30NIS both), 50 meters cable (200NIS) - Total 330NIS.
Wireless Network: Two wireless NICs (2000NIS both).
Performance: Cable based - 100Mbit/sec
Wireless: 11Mb/s

Assuming three computers:
Cable based (10Mb/s or 100Mb/s): Three NICs (150NIS total), 3 plugs (45NIS
total), 100 meters cable (400NIS), hub 10 (250)/ hub 100 (450)/ switched hub
100 (1000). Total cost: 750 - 1600 NIS (for the right speed).

Wireless based: 3 Wireless NICs (3000NIS total), one Access Point (about
1900NIS).
Total - ~5000NIS for 11Mb/s network.

Wireless networks are far from being cost efficient, for now.
I agree that the more wireless clients there are, the price gets closer to
standard port cost, but: 1) you can connect no more then 40 clients to each
AP; 2) 11Mb/s divide by 40 end points brings you to a modem speed on your
networks. And no, it is not a switched network, sorry.

Conclusion: Nice dream, cheeky to the observers, but far from being cost
efficient, or in any terms of resonable price.

Ah... dreams...

Ez.
