Hi all,
The development of this thread (shame on us! Discussing distros on a Linux club
mailing list!) arises a subject for a possible lecture:
Does anyone know filesystems good enough to give a lecture about it?
Not theory, but the practical differences between the different systems, and so on.
Just a small example: I installed Mandrake 7.0.2 a year ago, and decided to keep my RH
5.1 on another partition. Then I discovered that RH5.1 couldn't read MD7.0.2's ext2
partition. Now, it isn't that important, I guess I *could* have found some kernel
module to fix that, but I don't like that kind of surprises.
I wasn't aware of different versions of ext2.
So who's good on these things?
Eli
