the library you make should have this feature available. in the GUI - we
can play with it and see if it can be done nicely or not. in the worst
case, 'r2l' will have a command line option telling it whether to show ust
the basic GUI or the more complicated GUI, and the default will be the
basic GUI.

i think this falls under "if there are two good ways - support both, and
let the user decide".

as for the GUI part - once you have your library ready, i'll motidy my r2l
to use it, and once we decide how the GUI looks, i'll modify my GUIs to
look that way. i will, however, need help with writing 2 versions. one is
an enlightenment epplet (requires enlightenment version 0.16 or above
which i don't have) and 'status docks' - require gnome 1.2 (which, again,
i don't have). anyone willing to do the coding for them, once we have the
"framework" in place?
