I have thought of starting a group like that. I already have a company set
up (WebTech Staffing, LLC) and have a PEO that handles payroll (so you don't
have to deal with taxes) and have the ability to get Group insurance if I
can get a group of at least 5 people to sign on. I'd be willing to be
involved in putting this together and as long as my company make a small
profit (and doesn't lose money!) we could do it that way. Anyone else
interested in such an opportunity?

Subject: [DFW CFUG] Inusrance Question

Hello Everyone,

I am an independent ColdFusion developer doing freelance and contract work.
My wife and are moving back to Texas after being in Colorado for several
years.
I have a quick question about Health Insurance. When we previously lived in
Texas we could not get maternity coverage unless we were on a Group
Insurance policy. Does anyone know if that is the same? Also, what are
you other independent guys doing for insurance, individual policies?
What I would really like to find is a group of Independent people or some
sort of association I can join that provides Group Insurance, anyone know of
anything like that?

Thanks for any help and I hope to get to some of the CFUG meetings once we
get settled in there.

Jeff Pierson
