I take it you mean adding feeds from other sites?

When needing maximum parsing of the feed items we  use the magpie parser.
On php5 Simplexml is very good.
One can integrate Simplepie or rss2html as well for title/ content type 
feeds.
There are also javascript methods.

http://www.feedforall.com/ has some if a basic feed display is wanted.
