I was just about to respond to this when I saw Andy's response.

As well as the incompatibility with SquirrelMail 1.4
I now have SquirrelMail set up in the lab running against all of Courier, 
bincimap with a Maildir++ depot and bincmap with a IMAPdir depot.  Mind 
you, I started with a fresh install (i.e. no conversions) and I have yet 
to test it with any load.

Sure, Andy seems committed to making significant improvements with each
