Beyond Binders....( Sounds like a good start for a workshop...)Beginning as soon as my students acquire their laptops I begin "Organization 101" I have students create main folders, color coded and labeled for each content area. I also have them create a MISC folder
I have them create sub folders as well. example: Main folder: English ( In Blue) Sub Folders: ~Expectations/Writing Workshop ~Assignments/Rubrics ~Resources sub folders for Write Traits ~Ongoing work ~Free Writing ~Archives (This is off the top of my head of course as I try to remember!)I have them utilize the calender and paste reminders onto stickies( a program on our IBooks) We take time a couple times a month to revisit our work and keep our items organized.
I LOVED Study Wiz because it had an ELOCKER. Kids could keep there stuff stored safely on line in case there laptops bit the dust. I've tried to recreate this option in Moodle but it isn't the same....
Are there any open source options? I know there is more I do... What else can we share? _______________________________________________ The Literacy Workshop ListServ http://www.literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/lit_literacyworkshop.org.
