I wish I could say more, but these are certainly very private issues for both actors and I would quickly lapse into pure speculation if I tried to explain it all. The official story for David, I think, had something to do with taxes or some such nonsense. I don't think anyone believes it, but clearly the writing between the lines is, "This is the way things are, please let us all get on with our business and our lives, but thank you for your support." It's not that David or Jennifer (so far as I know) are trying to be rude to the fans. Rather, I get the impression that whatever happened has occured with such a sense of finality for them that they are ready to move on. I wish them both success in their new endeavors, and they will both continue to have a fan in me. >It ought to be interesting to see how the writers handle it. I suspect that, if Coote/Hayes (which now owns the show) is writing off David and Jennifer's characters, there is little hope of their bringing Michael back into the mix. He seems to be satisfied that his part in the show is finished. At least, he doesn't offer any hope of his return to the fans in the online forums, and I know he is extremely flattered by the various campaigns we've launched to bring him back. The best we got for Summerlee was a few lines of new dialogue superimposed over images lifted from past episodes. I don't want to discourage people who feel passionately about David and Jennifer, but I suspect that we won't even get that much for them once they have finished their contractual obligations. And something the actors don't mention is that the past 2-3 years must have been a tremendous emotional rollercoaster for them. I think it would be in their best interests if they could find less volatile, more stable shows to work on. >BTW, Liz mentioned the official website board. I still can't get to the >official website. Did the URL change? What's up with that? I don't have the URL for the official forum handy. However, http://www.thelostworldtv.com/ was owned by Telescene, which went into bankruptcy, so Coote/Hayes are supposed to start up their own official Web site at some point. New Line Television will maintain it for them. I suppose that Cinegroup, which acquired the Telescene film library, has nothing to do with the Telescene show(s). If I can remember to, I'll look for the URL to the official forum and post it here in the next day or two. It was not hosted on the Telescene site, and is still active. I think it's actually running on the New Line site somewhere. \\ // Science Fiction and Fantasy [EMAIL PROTECTED] \\// Visualizing Middle-earth, a book for all Tolkien fans //\\ http://www.xenite.org/ // \\ENITE.org..................................................... +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ | To unsubscribe: Contact: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | | Type in the body of the message: unsubscribe lost-world | | Xenite.Org: Worlds of Imagination on the Web http://www.xenite.org/ | +---------------------------------------------------------------------+
