Well, you know, it would be impossible to maintain a series that is
entirely faithful to the book. I mean, Sir Arthur wrote a fairly closed
storyline. I believe he brought back Challenger and Malone for a couple
more books, but a television series really has to depart from the book in
order to survive.
So, in that respect, it has a pretty good chance of surviving. The problem
really becomes one of whether they try to fill out the ensemble cast with
new actors/characters. If they don't, the show will have to change
directions radically.
