I'm puzzled. Actually, it seems that there IS a setting by Robert Jones. I just stumbled upon Naxos' new releases and the CD "Music for Shakespear's Theatre" contains the song "Sigh no more ladies" by Robert Jones. You can listen to it here: http://www.classicsonline.com/catalogue/product.aspx?pid=544449 And you can compare it to the setting by Ford: http://www.theclassicalshop.net/details06MP3.asp?CNumber=SDL%20409 I don't understand. A song with that title it's not in the Song Books by Jones - see their whole content here: http://kulturserver-bayern.de/home/harald-lillmeyer/Texte/Downloads/Downloads.html and it's not cited in most recent edition of the Grove online. Peter, if you are really interested in the setting of Jones, I would suggest you to contact the artists of the Naxos CD, the lutenist Dorothy Linell (she has a site on the web) or the tenor Gerald Place to ask them for the source. Let me (us) know. I'm very curious.
