   Friends,

I have been milling this idea around for a few days now --- my music
history teacher said something like "bach would roll over in his grave
to hear one of his violin sonatas performed on a modern violin..."
something like that --- he was referring to the ability of the
instrument to stay "in-tune" and the preciseness of the acoustics
   (string/instrument material and so on).

was there a preference in musical temperament - do you all have a
preference? my father brought me a Venezuelan Cuatro from Trinidad and
if I tune it with a tuner the intervals are off, if i tune it to itself
its ok.. until i get to higher positions.
