Is it crashing without interaction after two minutes ? Is this 2 
minutes of working in it ? What do you do then ? Do you have special 
constructions in your document ? Which version of LyX ? Which platform 
? Does "lyx -dbg any" reveal anything special ?

Just for the record, this is fixed now. It appeared to be bug 5957: 
http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/5957. So changing the scale on screen of 
some of the figures to another value than 50% fixed the problem.

.... now waiting for the beer :D....
