Actually, as LyX works at the moment, 2.2.2, it *im*possible to click between two frames or buttons, e.g. two ERTs or two labels. So the space doesn't really help there. This is partly due to a "interaction area" translated to the right. But maybe that should be changed.

Can't we make it such that clicks too near to boundaries are ignored?

That seems sensible to me. Or if there is some space in between insets then at least not have it as being part of the inset.
