If this doesn't suit your needs I recommend to ask at this website.

However, the question for me is if your method should be part of math.lyx or not. The file is already full of special cases. The section about subnumbering describes already a special feature that requires some ugly hacks. Your referencing scheme is in turn a special one of a special one. I think it is too confusing to add this to Math.lyx right now. I mean even I an an expert was confused. Therefore I think average users will be confused by this as well.

But maybe you find a nice solution in stackexchange. If so, please send me a LyX file how it is done and i will have a look what could be ported to Math.lyx.
