I know. I cannot speak or read Arabic so I trust our Arabic translator that he might have reasons for this. I played around with it and marking e.g. "LyX" are LTR text would not harm. (The output via LuaTeX fails anyway.)

Further it does not compile.
The log file does not show errors, only warnings.

Here it compiles with XeTeX 0.99997. I only get 3 warnings about the font Scheherazade. This font was chosen by the translator.
