I think it's a SuSE 6.0 problem with depencies of packages - I had the same
when I updated to SuSE 6.0. If it is, the solution is to install the package
gpp. From the SuSE Support Data Base:
Symptom:
Sie wollen ein Programm (z.B. ein KDE Programm) kompilieren. Mit der SuSE
Linux 5.3 hat's noch funktioniert. Jetzt meldet aber ein Aufruf von
configure folgenden Fehler:
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot
create executables.
Ursache:
Die haben den Compiler egcs installiert. Es fehlt jedoch die ausführbare
Datei /usr/bin/g++. Folge ist, dass ein Aufruf des Befehles g++ nicht
funktioniert und configure den C++ Compiler nicht finden kann.
Lösung:
Installieren Sie das Paket gpp. Dieses enthält das Frontend /usr/bin/g++ für
den egcs.
