Ah - I checked with my other <favourite> -- SWP. In SWP, the path for the bibliography files is set up in the *editor*, *not* in the document. Thus, these kinds of problems are avoided. Maybe I can do the same in LyX...

The best way is to put your BibTeX file in a place where LaTeX will find it, and then define the BIBINPUTS environment variable to point there. This can be different on the two machines. Then LyX will jut record the file as "yourfile.bib" or whatever. Richard
