First, you should make sure that your document compiles without any special
class option.

When this is verified, add "5p" in the "Custom" class options in the "Document
Settings" > "Document Class" as you already do.

When you get option clashes with the geometry package, the problem can be
avoided by selecting:
  - "Default Format" under "Document Settings" > "Page Layout".
  - "Default Margins" under "Document Settings" > "Page Margins".

In other words, you disable the ability to customize the margin spacing, page
size, etc., but this is fine as what you really want is to comply with your
publisher.
