Way to keep user from browsing local hard drive?

Is there a way in IE for Mac (on 9.2.1 or 10.1) to keep users from 
browsing the local machine's directories?

On wintel machines, it is done via the registry. If you look in the 
documentation for the IE for Mac OS X preview, it says that browsing a 
local drive is not working correctly, but will be fixed soon. I wish it 
were something that the computer's administrator could toggle on or off.
