Yes, there is an ancient method of typing on envelopes, and it is called a 
typewriter. 
It is curiously similar to a key board, only it has actual keys, similar to a 
piano if you will, 
which when hit leave an impression on paper that is inserted into a carriage 
return --- so 
it's like a computer and printer all in one! :0)
