Charles Brown is right of course that the 1st concentration camps were for
the Indians here but, before you throw around "BOURGEOIS, ANTI-COMMUNIST"
consider
anti-Stalinist left traditions like the Trotskyists, council communists like
Mattick, the "Socialism or Barbarism" current around Castoriadis and Lefort
(History of the "Socialism or Barbarism" current associated with
Castoriadis,
Lefort and Lyotard
(who unfortunately later was a major figure in postmodernist silliness). The
site this is from, Collective Action Notes, has a great, many texts worth
perusing from the left communist tradition, from such as Paul Mattick, Sr.
and many others. Another source, is a book by Richard Gombin, "The Radical
Tradition, " a short Penguin paperback.

, and left social democrats and anarchists. Not all critical of Soviet-type
societies are or were for capitalism. And remember Karl Marx himself
decried, "Barracks Communism."

P.S. UC Berkeley student body is nowhere as progressive as in days of old. I
have no idea, what your major is, if you're an undergrad or grad student,
but all of us need allies and as the kids say, "Chill Out!."
