Dear list, Browsing http://www.deniamazzola.com/, a web site dedicated to Denia Mazzola-Gavazzeni, who gave a fantastic performance of Parisina during the summer 1999 in Montpellier, I found several interesting items. It looks like a new recording of Si, Mascagni's only operetta, was recorded and released on Agora last year. I don't know if it's actually available since I've been unable to find it online. Also, new Mascagni CDs are announced, such as Iris (Agora), Silvano (Agora), and "Ritratti femminili" (Actes Sud). Si, Silvano and Iris were all recorded in Livorno. Now it might be that this information is out of date and there is no guarantee that these CDs will actually be released. I just hope they will be! She is scheduled to sing in Alfano's Risurrezione and Monleone's Cavalleria Rusticana in Montpellier for the Festival di Radio France (the same festival which featured Parisina two years ago).
