Hi all, I'll use the opportunity of this spam for a quick update :-) Has anybody listened to the song "Mascagni" sung by Andrea Bocelli on his latest album, "Cieli di Toscana"? The music is mostly from the intermezzo of Cavalleria Rusticana. Although I far prefer the original this is a wonderful homage to the man, his life and his music, that can potentially reach a very large audience. "Mascagni vive tra di noi"! It always amaze me how much love and passion Mascagni can suscitate. I'm not sure who actually wrote the lyrics, but Carlo Botteghi, who wrote an impressive volume entirely dedicated to Parisina, is among the people credited. The lyrics with translation are available here: http://abmusica.home.mindspring.com/cieli_di_toscana.htm#Track%205 For those who haven't visited www.mascagni.org in a while, not much has changed in the last few months. This is partly because I've been working on a new version of the web site which I hope I'll be able to release in a few weeks! -Erik Jon H.
