Just about every list is subject to some kind of spamming, and it really is 
terrible, but not much to do about it. I encourage you to simply delete what 
you can't open, or what looks patently like spam.
Leaving the list because of spam is tragic!  You won't get any viruses if 
you don't click on an .exe file, or download something that will be harmful 
to your computer. Almost all the real Mascagni.org messages have very clear 
messages as to content: anything you see that isn't clear simply don't open.
