Dear list,

The Web site has gone through difficult times in the last couple of
months. It is back to normal now, with some improvements and
additions:

1. The site navigation looks nicer (except with Netscape 4.x for which
the Web site is not quite optimized).

2. Some news, including upcoming performances of L'amico Fritz and In
Filanda, performances of Nerone and Amica in Rome in 2004 and 2005,
and the publication of a first batch of Mascagni songs:

3. New photo albums and images:

Pictures from Reginal della Scala, 1937

    Vanity Fair Pictures

There is also a new signed picture with the general Fidenzio
  Dall'Ora which is of interest:

I found out that I had three different pictures featuring Mascagni,
Franchetti and Puccini, and just added the third one:

If anybody has information about when and how those pictures where
  taken, I am very interested!

3. The discography features a series of updates listed here:

Among the most recent releases, a CD of verismo by Californian
soprano Robin Follman, which is not bad at all and features two
  Mascagni arie:

Also not to miss is the album of Mascagni songs by Fausto Tenzi and
  Roberto Negri:

An album of Italian overtures conducted bp Myung-Whun Chung features
the Preludietto of L'amico Fritz, rarely performed on its own but
beautiful. The tempi are closer to Mascagni's own, but I prefer
  Gavazzeni's!

In the same vein, an album released quite a while ago with
wonderfully conducted opera intermezzi and preludes:

A DVD of the Metropolitan Opera's Centennial Gala features a great
version of Iris's overture, the famous Hymn of the Sun, conducted by
David Stivender. The sound and image quality are excellent:

Enjoy!
