Dear list,
It is time to mention some recent news and updates of the Web site!
1. Mike Wilson pointed to the fact that Mascagni's epistolary dates
the Nerone movie excerpts to November 5, 1936. Two excerpts were
filmed for the movie "Regina della Scala" on that day. I updated
the page to reflect this finding:

Comparing the appearance of Mascagni in the movie and in the
pictures seems to confirm this:

I would be extremely interested in finding a copy of the complete
movie! It would be wonderful to see it released in video or DVD or
even on the Web.
The same is true for the restored color version of "Rapsodia
Satanica". Why make a fuss about it back in 1995 if eight years
later nobody on the planet has access to it?
2. A new Cavalleria Rusticana movie by Italian-American producer and
songwriter Tony Renis is announced. More information on the News
page:

3. Many pictures have been added. The classification tries to reflect
different periods of Mascagni's life. The first album shows a few
pictures taken before 1900:

The second album concentrates of the middle aged Mascagni, roughly
from 1900 to the early 1920's.

Finally, a separate album is dedicated to the elderly Mascagni:

Portraits, pictures showing Mascagni at the piano and group
pictures are shown in separate albums:

I tried to order the pictures chronologically, but often I had to
guess. This means that there are certainly lots of errors!
New albums are dedicated to places (mostly buildings) and
caricatures:

It is interesting to compare some pictures that at first looked the
same to me but turned out to be different:

Interesting also to see a few pictures where Mascagni really smiles:

That's it for today!
