So I am trying to burn the fedora 8 ISO to DVD using K3b I am getting the following error messege:
:-( more than 50% of space will be *wasted*! use single layer media for this recording Wow! thanks for warning me! But it just so happens that I only have dual-layer disks on hand, and I would rather get this burned today than save a few bucks. I tryed to add an -f switch, but that did not help. Is there a "shut the flip up and do what I flippen' told you to" switch? Google did not help. full debug output" System ----------------------- K3b Version: 0.12.15 KDE Version: 3.5.5-0.2.fc5 Fedora-Core QT Version: 3.3.7 Kernel: 2.6.20-1.2320.fc5smp Devices ----------------------- HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-E30L VE01 (/dev/scd0, ) at [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-ROM; DVD-ROM; DVD-RAM; DVD-R; DVD-RW; DVD-R DL; DVD+R; DVD+RW; DVD+R DL] [DVD-ROM; DVD-R Sequential; DVD-R Dual Layer Sequential; DVD-R Dual Layer Jump; DVD-RAM; DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite; DVD-RW Sequential; DVD+RW; DVD+R; DVD+R Double Layer; CD-ROM; CD-R; CD-RW] [SAO; TAO; RAW; SAO/R96P; SAO/R96R; RAW/R16; RAW/R96P; RAW/R96R; Restricted Overwrite; Layer Jump] LITE-ON COMBO LTC-48161H KH0M (/dev/hdc, ) at [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-ROM; DVD-ROM] [DVD-ROM; CD-ROM; CD-R; CD-RW] [SAO; TAO; RAW; SAO/R96P; SAO/R96R; RAW/R16; RAW/R96P; RAW/R96R] Used versions ----------------------- growisofs: 7.0 growisofs ----------------------- Executing 'builtin_dd if=/home/matthew/Desktop/Fedora-8-dvd-i386/Fedora-8-i386-DVD.iso of=/dev/scd0 obs=32k seek=0' :-( more than 50% of space will be *wasted*! use single layer media for this recording growisofs command: ----------------------- /usr/bin/growisofs -Z /dev/scd0=/home/matthew/Desktop/Fedora-8-dvd-i386/Fedora-8-i386-DVD.iso -use-the-force-luke=notray -use-the-force-luke=tty -dvd-compat -speed=2.4 -use-the-force-luke=bufsize:32m _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Dec 5 - Open Source Show and Tell Jan 2 - TBD Feb 6 - DBUS Mar 5 - Setting up a platform-independent home/small office network using Linux
