I and a colleague are looking to perform a shape
analysis on a species of flat fish. We can locate a few anatomical
landmarks on the head and tail regions, but specific landmarks on the
rest of the fish body are virtually non-existent. We were wondering if
anyone has ever done morphometric analysis on flat fish or know which
technique would be the most appropriate? We have heard about
semi-landmarks which may be a way to obtain landmarks over a curved
surface, but never really knew how to go about them. Would this be the
right technique to use in our situation and if so does anyone know of a
good program or references on the subject?
Thanks for your help!
