Well said, Pam. Let the comments of these speakers ring in the silence and echo back to haunt them, as those despicable anti-meritocracy "death tax" ads have. I am truly sorry for people like that and for Fred Phelps, the virulent anti-gay preacher who will be protesting Wellstone's memorial tonight. Compassionate non-confrontation and complete non-engagement with him and others like him is the best tactic. I was a Green for Wellstone, had supported him from the beginning, and am working on a poem about Paul. That is my response; but it's really Paul working through me.
